2010 CAN-AM CUP GETS NEW TWISTS, BONUS MONEY, NATIONAL TV COVERAGE AND WILL BE MORE FUN THAN EVER!

2010 Can-Am Cup! - The goal and purpose of the Can-Am Cup has always been to bring the U.S. and Canadian riders together to have fun enjoying the sport of personal watercraft racing together. In recent years there has been many more U.S. riders than Canada and the fun of the “Cup” as a competition has gotten stale. For 2010 the Can-Am Cup is getting a facelift and we are bringing the FUN back into the event. There are many new twists to the Can-Am Cup this year. Since we now have an event in Canada the Can-Am Cup will now be points from both the Harbor Beach and Belle River events. To help costs to the racers and increase participation current Runabout classes will count as Can-Am Cup events. The Ski Limited class we be the only separate event open to racers of all skill levels. There will be $4,200 in bonus money paid to the Can-Am class champions as well as special CASH award to the top Canadian rider in each Can-Am Cup class. Below are some of the highlights.

1) 2010 CAN-AM CUP SCORING - The overall Can-Am Cup title will points earned in both racing and non-racing events. We will see the return to what the Can-Am is all about and that is having FUN. The hockey game will now count for 25% as well some fun Crazy Olympic games that will be run in Belle River on Saturday night. Racing will now count as 50% of the overall Can-Am Cup score.

  • 25% from Can-Am Cup races in Harbor Beach (Saturday Only)
  • 25% from the Harbor Beach Hockey Game
  • 25% from the Can-Am Cup races in Belle River (Saturday Only)
  • 25% from the Crazy Olympic events in Belle River

2) CAN-AM CUP CLASSES - Except for a Ski Limited class, the Runabout 800 Open class will count as the Can-Am Runabout 800 class and the Runabout Open class will count as the Can-Am Runabout Open class. We hope this will increase participation in the Runabout classes as we had many racers of Runabouts that were worried about breaking their boats running both the Tour and Can-Am Cup events. The final moto of the Runabout 800 Open and the Runabout Open class will run at night in Harbor Beach with the Can-Am Ski Limited class. All Can-Am Cup classes will receive a 50% payback with a minimum of $500 going to the winner of each of the three Can-Am Cup classes in Harbor Beach.   In Belle River the classes will receive the HUGE posted payouts for the Eastern Canadian Nationals. Great awards will be given at each event and special awards for the Overall Can-Am Cup Champions.
