Canadian Watercross Nationals and Freestyle Tour

After a sucessful inaugural event in Belle River in 2010, a successful 2011 Official Canadian Nationals Race, the CWA is pleased to announce the return of an IJSBA snactioned watercraft racing and freestyle tour! Jetski racing will once again return to the Sunsplash Festival!  The prestigious "Canadian Watercross Nationals" will take place Saturday and Sunday at Belle River's West Beach.  The event is hosted by the Canadian Watercraft Association under the direction of Ray Proulx of R & D Powersports and is the third stop on the 2012 Canadian Watercraft Riacing and Freestyle Tour.

The event draws over 100 compeitors from all over North America and has been voted one of the favourite events of the year!  Over 500 crew members, family, and friends accompanied the racers to the area for the weekend of racing! The event also draws over 5000 spectators and has earned favourable coverage in magazines and interenet blogs! Even a television show was produced and distributed aroudn the world! The races draw more beginners from the local area than any other race on teh North American Tour, relecting a great interest in personal watercraft in the Belle River area.

 This year event is anticipated to again draw over 100 racers from around the world.  Riders from Indonesia and Australia have already committed to participating.  The local and regional riders are already working out, getting in shape, and fine tuning their machines, preparing to compete for the prestigious Canadian National Titles.

We are excited about the postive impact this event makes on the local community by bringing an energy and excitement, while also supporting local businesses fo rthe week surrounding the event!
