Lakeshore’s Community Improvement Plan for Belle River BIA Businesses

Building on the strengths of the Belle River-On the Lake BIA, the CIP is an exciting opportunity to enhance this community’s unique character by promoting redevelopment, revitalisation and beautification.

Why apply? Business and property owners, within the CIP approved area, who are thinking of property improvement may apply for the various financial incentives which provide a range of opportunities and flexibility.

Community Improvement Plan info for businesses shows you the improvements that have been made on Notre Dame Street with the help of the CIP Program.

Belle River-On the Lake BIA Tree Lighting Celebration 2016

The Belle River BIA hosted the annual BIA Tree Lighting Celebration at the Optimist Park on Saturday, Dec 3, 2016.  A number of activities were available for the families of Lakeshore to participate in S’More Making, Singing Christmas Carols with Gillian Marshall and even dancing with Encore Performance Company!  Gentlemen from the Sun Parlour Chorus gathered at the park to sing their hearts out and welcome Santa.

The Belle River Girl Guides were selling cookies and organising a craft for the kids in Santa’s tent.  Lakeshore Firefighter brought Santa in a fire truck to the park as we did not have enough snow on the ground for a safe landing.

A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped out as well as the Belle River Optimist Club who serviced up over 600 cups of steaming hot chocolate.  This will be the last year for the club to participate as they have all retired and passed on the equipment to the Belle River Lions Club for next year.

Volunteers also served up warm organic apple cider from Foodland , hand made cookies from Little Sweets, 500 tim bits and 80 cups of Timmies coffee as well as 100 bags of Poppers Kettlecorn!

Donations of money and food items were collected for the Belle River and area Goodfellows.

Stroll the Street: Bringing Notre Dame Street to Life in 2016!

Stroll the Street fills down town Belle River-On the Lake with music and fun on the last Friday night of each month from May to September.  An upbeat urban experience with small town charm geared for locals of all ages.  Your opportunity to meet interesting people, as you walk, shop, eat and enjoy all that the local businesses have to offer.

Stroll the Streets is an opportunity to slow down, visit with your friends and family while enjoying a variety of music and activities taking place all along Notre Dame Street. Stroll the Street takes place on the last Friday of every month –  June 24, July 29, Aug 26 and Sept 30 between 5pm and 9pm.

We are looking for students willing to earn their community service hours by performing, playing music, singing, or helping out with special events organized by the Stroll the Street Committee.

The performances are meant to showcase musicians in our community as well as provide free entertainment for the public.

Performance time slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.   A diverse range of musical acts and styles will be considered, whether ensembles or solo artists, instrumentalists or vocalists.

Please contact Janel Gagnier, Belle River-On the Lake BIA Coordinator at 519-728-4624 or janel@belleriverbia.com if you would like to get involved or have any questions.
